This is how the end looked when we started today.

The stone foundation

The stone foundation went on today and we are really happy with it. Ever since we saw the barn in Reading we knew that it needed to have the look of stone on the foundation. The stone went on in one day so we are ready to pour the front apron in front of the big doors.

Inside changes

My wife Sandy and I power washed the inside of the doors to get all of the dirt and bird droppings off. I am pretty sure these doors are 1 inch thick Redwood. Each one has over 100 bolts in it.




This is the inside view of our new windows above the doors. These came out great.




This is something new. I have been working on a local club that wanted to update their lighting and replace all of their ceiling tiles. I was able to get 4 of these lights that are going to be absolutely perfect in the barn, Each iron loop has 6 lights mounted on them and each light has 4 bulbs. I can't wait to hang them up and wire them.

Outside changes

I painted the show rafter at the top of the gable end to match the roof. The last step of the roof installation is an L shaped piece of metal that goes over the edge of the roof and comes down 3 inches onto the show rafter.



This is a scratch coating of mortar to act as a base for a stone product we are having installed on the base. That should happen tomorrow,

Transom Windows

These are the transom windows that I found in the return area of my local Lowes. I got them for half price. I then made wooden styles to simulate 8 X 10 glass. My friend Jeff Rhodes helped me install them today. They are 9 feet 6 inches in length and I centered them over each of the big 14 foot doors as you can see below.
